  10. Trippy! Of course it has to be the Japanese that tune scooters. Damn french aren’t gonna do it!

  11. only inj japan

I would love any of these, but they wouldn’t last 5 minutes in London. some one would nick it the second you got off it

Dont’ think you’ll be filtering through traffic on these things. Scooters are goof enough as they are. Making then fatter and lower to the ground isn’t helping much.

  13. Ouka

    Why are they so low?
Speed bumps and the many hills of Japan would destroy these machines on the road.

Why not use a real motor cycle?

A moped is for someone who is unable to afford a motor cycle.
Students, for example or someone who does not take pride in what they ride.

they are so low because they have gas shocks, so when they are not turned on they sit low. same as a lowrider. i live in japan and own of these and your comment is silly about affording a real bike. these range from 250 to 650cc and before customization are around $5000 to $8000, customization can double this.
the only difference between this and a your “real motorcycle” is the transmission. so are all non manual cars not real cars?

      [Reply]

      • steve

thats not the only difference. to real bikers anyway.

i, myself, have trouble considering anything under 1200cc as a ‘real motorcycle. 8k won’t buy a real bike. they usually start at about 12k. cheaper ones being honda vtx or shadow series, suzuki boulevard or harley sportster with the 1200 kit. i guess some yamaha vstar or similar series would fit in there too. im sure there are others.

and yes, engine size matters. check with motorcycle ‘clubs’. most of them have a cc requirement for new members. i have seen a few as low as 800cc, but most start at either 1100 or 1200cc.

        [Reply]

        • Cunty

Wot the hell you’re a dick you’re in the wrong if you believe that <1200cc aint a real bike, infact most of the fast ones that require really skilled drivers will be under that, and there is plenty of harleys and shit below 1200cc wot the shit. These scooters are clearly not following the scooter criteria anymore, and that is because they are turned into such good showcases of workmanship it is a shame to drive them. Wotever your style and taste is, you HAVE to appreciate those things, and I do not believe for a second that you would refuse a ride on those. The green one looks like it has a boost gauge :)

Some of the low riders have air suspension systems that let them adjust the height. BAd ass.

    [Reply]

  15. I would not mind one of them :D Compared to 50cc “beasts” kids ride on here.

  16. This scooters seem to be much lower than normal. I think this is a very modern form of ARt, which is useful too !

i read soo many reviews and looks like no one really knows why its SOOO FREGGIN lowwww. Its because it has airbags that adjust the height so when you park the damn thing it sits on itself like a kick stand would hold up a bike. however not all them should be this way.

De gustibus non disputandum est, etc., but IMHO, these “scooters” are uglier than a pailful of assholes. What is this thing the Japanese have with low-riders? I thought that was solely a Chicano shtick.
