Psychedelic posters by Aquirax Uno

Graphic artist Aquirax Uno, a prominent figure in the Japanese underground art scene of the 1960s-1970s, is famous for creating psychedelic posters featuring strange (and occasionally grotesque) eroticism, bright colors, and elements of collage.

  2. I have never been able to understand the appeal of this “art”. The colorful posters are at least less dark in theme than the black and white posters. They speak to me of hopeless resignation. It saddens me to think that this cacophony of drug induced images is something with which people can identify, although I do have to admit that some of the imagery is very striking.
