@ Vanessa & Timothy: I went to see this today and I disagree-- I don't think they look much like Woodring's work at all. I think perhaps it's just that they both use bright primary colours and organic shapes, but there are definitely differences.
These are gorgeous, but to my mind Kawaguchi owes Jim Woodring some money.

looks like willy wonka meets dr seuss
kinda cool tho. dont look anything like robots. and the robots dont look like they would do much.
still kinda interesting looking. im just not a big pokemon fan
