Thank you for sharing ALL aspects of japanese culture not just what is known and mainstream. Perhaps if more people were open-minded to the culture of others words like "gay" and not knowing where to start "bashing" would not enter the conversation. Besides it's no more "gay" than some hillbilly watching another hillbilly driving his car around an oval track hoping for a crash.

What they are doing is expanding the 'normal' of customizing a ride, and bringing it back to 'customizing'. So ya, it's different, that's the point. It's sorta like asking "why the f**k did you put those silly lights under your car? it's not like it makes the car go faster!". The point was to get your attention. In the end, it's your ride, and you're the judge..
that was some really ghey cars. I saw nothing that was cutting edge only stupid ass cars. Really extended tailpipes. Really stupid designs. Just wastes of metal.
I love how you step up and reprimand people online for saying "gay" and then you use it in your next sentence. Maybe, if you stopped worrying about if people are American or "hillbilles", you would see that YOU look like the gay basher. MoRon, see what I did there?

These vehicles belong to gang members. Bosozoku are street gangs and these are typical examples of their rides. They are mostly under 20 and some of them go on to join the Yakuza when they get older. The bikes and cars are meant to attract attention but you don't laugh at them, they use that as an excuse to attack you with baseball bats and other weapons. Remember they don't have big bikes like Harleys in Japan, I think the limit is 600cc, so they create these custom jobs out of stolen bike parts.
you are wrong dude. i live in japan i see harley motorbikes almost everyday out on the road. I mean Harley Davidson Big Boys.Some of my friends have like 900cc Kawasaki bikes . Also bosozoku are still around but the violent days died out around the 90s same with yankii culture. Now days the new ones are mostly wimps and poseurs that ride around with stupid loud bikes with the exhaust cut .
Anyway so people call these cars ''gay''. Its just for attention no worse than some little white boy from the suburbs driving around in a souped up skyline blasting frickin techno down the street.

I'm not too sure about the designs here. I don't really know what they are going for. Aesthetically, I don't like them, which is probably why they aren't mainstream to begin with.
And over here... this is America, we have a Second Amendment, taking a baseball bat to someone who laughs at your goofy looking car is likely to not turn out well.
There called boso cars people. Or bosozoku cars. The ignorance desplayed by some of you offends me greatly. I am an american and i have a deep love for japanes cars and the culture. So before you go running your most likely to be fat mouth have some respect.
The pipes are called boso pipes.
And the money spent is not much on these there usually older models picked up very cheap.
Would you complain bout a pretty corvette? Probably not! But thats what that particular guy likes. These people do this.
To each there own, PERSONALLY i LOVE these cars and a+++ for the geometry being right and even throughout.
YO YO.....Haters gonna hate.....they see me rollin they hatin.... these guys are off the chain think of the amount of effort that went into those cars as as was said before not all people like the same thing so love it for what it is.....pure freak-in awesomeness!!!!!!
