Japanese companies do themselves a disservice by playing up the cute angle all the time. Let's hope that it makes it to market in more alpha-geek-friendly clothing. Not sure about the ring idea at all, though; door opening may just be a proof-of-concept example, but they'd better come up with something more compelling if they're to launch it. There are some functions you don't want to be constantly available to avoid accidental use, after all.
