hello there. theres a big possibility that gundams maybe possible in the future. first the mechanics, there is material that invented called carbon nanotubes it is 1000 times stronger than the steel and 100 times lighter. it is also immune from melting and generating heat friction which is good material for armor, inner frame and joints. second the energy, the machine like gundam requires a great amount of energy the good source is matter-antimatter collision. when matter and antimatter collide it creates great amount of energy 10 order of magnitude greater than chemical energy. the energy is so great that even gundam can move very quickly like we seen in the anime series. but only the carbon nanotubes can handle that the steel will only melt and heavines is a burden. another solution is fusion reactor.this machine works like GN drives in gundam oo series. but it use to fused two element to create energy.another solution is a hadron collider built in europe a machine that accelerates particles and collides at extremely high speed. the purpose for this is to break down those particles to find more simplier particles. in theory the simplier particle is called "higgs boson" this energy source may be feasible to be implemented on a gundam however such source has not yet found.third problem is computing. when piloting a gundam you must have a computer that recieves information about invironment, elevation, temperature, stored energy, upcoming target, homing/lock on,monitoring internal invironment, the pilots staus, velocity, etc. we probably need a quantum computer. in present time IBM scientist have done some of the of the most complicated computer but not enough for a gundam but in the future it maybe possibe.so mechanics, money, energy, comuting, materials. once this 5 is solved gundams are no longer a fantasy.

this $724,310,000 dollar business is a crock of shit, I've studied gundam, robotics, machinery, weaponry, computer coding and metal working for over 15 years, I've created so many blueprints and designs for the RX-78-2 and many other MS its unbelievable and i can honestly say that could make a gundam with all the bells and whistles for about $2,500,000 (now say the G-vot shouldnt make 1) and a reduced size version for $250,000 that could be piloted by a complete idiot. if anyone wants to know how a gundam really works msg me at

You know... Gundams might be needed for space missions... Like a mission to explore Mars... with a gundam, not only will it be safer, it will gurantee a successful mission.... plus with a gundam, it will speed up the process of building a station in martian atmosphere or within mars for future space travels and colony. Scientists and people alike have always wondered what it would be like to send humans to Mars, and the only obstacle they have is the safety of the astronauts since it's been proven that space travel from earth to mars can take only months to no more than 2 years if the timing is perfect. With a gundam, entry to martian atmosphere and exploration within mars will be gurateed a success and the safety of the astronauts/pilots/explorers will not be jeopardize since gundams are resilient to dust/sand storms that ravage Mars.

If the whole mission is a success, money will be worth wasted on building Gundams... and we all know that in the future when humans can actually live beyond earth... war between planets are inevitable, just like war between nations... and a Gundam is a perfect weapon for wars such as this, be it on land, air, sea, or space.

OK OK..a lot of people have made strong points but the possibility of a REAL gundam is not as far fetched as we think. Most of those opposed to the idea had 1 thing in common. They said that there would be no application for a 60ft tall robot. While I agree 60 feet is tall, I must say that the applications for it would be enormous. For example, On the battlefield, lets use a tank vs a Gen I "Mobile Suit". The first thing engineers would want out of their mobile suit is speed. Lets say that the mobile suit maintains speeds of 45-65mph(running), The tank would have to be hitting a moving target. Also, chances are that the countermeasures found on the mobile suit would be the latest tech thus giving it an advantage over the ground forces found on the battlefield, meaning, the pilot would be aware of the tanks on the battlefield. And PLEASE remember that just because were talking about a gundam doesnt mean they would send it by itself against a battalion ok..it would be assisted by other friendly forces just like ground forces have backups today. There would be tanks, jets, helicopters, infantry, and drones all assisting this 60ft beast. and as a strategist, let me be the first to tell you that if there is any purpose for the gundam on the battlefield it is at least to be the target of attention. ALL of the enemy forces would try to take it out first meaning the gundams friendly forces would have ease in hitting their targets. So to say that a mobile suit serves no purpose other then a bill is totally wrong..the country with 1 or 2 of these things would cause other countries to shit their pants

that was for the purpose of a gundam. Now lets talk about how close we would be to building a good mobile suit. I would say, with the technology that we have now both public and secret, we could accomplish a mobile suit that's about 25-30ft much like a nightmare frame or an AC(armored core unit) As im typing this, there are live application of next generation helmets with HUD's like what we saw in GI JOE, also for about 2 daces, we've had in action the motion helmet like what is found on the apache in which the pilots head moves the camera as well as the gun. Russia has developed radar that can detect the raptor, japan has developed Bi-Pedal robots , China has developed, CPU's with next gen AI...METALS being used in next gen armor such as the Titanium-Zirconium alloys, Reactive armor, Next gen Countermeasures like what the army is researching for the Merkava IV Tank Defence System which can be read at http://www.army-technology.com/news/news61476.html

All thats left is energy source. WE have tons of applications. Remember that we are just trying to build a mobile suit, so space use can come at a later time, but for now, we could use small, nuclear powerplants like what the next gen abrams are supposedly gonna be using(rumor) or use the motors as described

Now PLease Please dont thnk that our mobile suit will be anything like in the anime...now ay can we make a mobile suit that can do a cartwheel and quickly duck behind a building..lets leave that for anime...in a real world application they would move like zakus did in early gundam shows

As for training....theres already small aplications thay companies are using even for recreational purposes such as http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x38lcl_senjo-no-kizuna-banpresto-gundam

Imagine a military purpose or construction purpose..they could tweak those simulators easily..

All thats left is the monetary value...is it worth building such expensive items...YES it is. We as americans already spend 1.5 billion per B2...another half billion just on maintenance...and we never see these things flying..we spend 300 million a MONTH on refueling and rearming our boys over there in Iraq alone...so money is not an issue..if theres a will theres a way...

P.S any 1 know how to get in on those sims? they are in japan

It sounds like fun to me just the thought of making one would be worth seeing it actually work, though I agree using it for creating war would be wrong, but would come in handy if someone thought about attacking us...

but instead of having walk on legs and feet solve the problem by putting it on tracks to desperse the weight and load it with a butt load of weapons. Just my opinion..

this is just a weapon for wars making them in the first place is a wrong thing...

making a gundam is just like building a weapon they can be used for wars just because they are big and only 1 gundam is needed to kill... hope people in life don't build this for bad use

Yeah, they should give all of their money to some worthless country in the middle of nowhere so people there can have clean water and medicine... and then continue killing each other in equally worthless civil wars.

I'll take the Gundam being built by a learned nation over that any day.

Knightmare Frames are closer to something we could build with tech in the near future anyway. Plus, the Guren or the Lancelot would easily be able to own a 60 foot Gundam. With size comes vulnerability. Smaller target, harder to hit, moves faster, and there for can own ANY Gundam, They are big, slow, and they honestly kind of look ugly. I don't hate Gundams, the first anime I ever saw was Gundam Wing, but the Knightmares just make more sense to me. Radiation Wave Surger anyone? :P
