[...] I wasn’t kidding when I said that Japan is being surrounded by hostile Giant Jellyfish. Check out this pic, from Pink Tentacle’s coverage of the invasion; suddenly it makes more sense that the Japanese would strike back, powdering the slimy buggers. Of course, it still wouldn’t occur to a sane person (nor to a person who’d seen Attack of the Mushroom People) to make that powder into cookies and put it in her mouth, but there you go; we are talking about the Japanese, after all. They may be more plausible than the Romanians, but they’re just as wingnutty under those navy suits. [...]

[...] But just look at the site. Besides coverage of eco-tech, there you’ll find the magic in nature (jellyfish invasion!), in technology (walking partner robot!), and even in that wretched species humanity (flowering in poverty). All those things are together on the site without contradiction. I wish our world was like that. Thank you Edo. [...]

[...] I’m not sure if this photo is real or not. If it is then it is remarkable as you would never expect to see so many huge jellyfish in one shot. However I am aware that Jellyfish do sometime turn up in huge numbers, I have witnessed thousands of purple heart jellyfish off my coast before. What is even more remarkable though is the intention of the Japanese to eat these monsters - I just cannot see Jellyfish as being tasty or nutritious in any way whatsoever. [...]
