I have been fascinated with them since I can remember. I wonder if these mummified mermaids were alive, would we be so disgusted with them? They are truly ugly dead and mummified, but so are the most beautiful humans. I have no doubt that the ancient Egyptians were just as lovely in life as we are today. It is possible that the same applies to these mummified mermaids. (p.s. I do know that it was a monkey sewn to a fish : ). I was talking more theoretically.) I love mermaids.
